Bill Gates: philanthropist or oligarch? A look behind the facade- 2

In a recent interview, Bill Gates, one of the richest people in the world, said that money could not buy him longevity – at least not in the present. An interesting statement that emphasises his public persona as a philanthropist. But when we take a closer look at Gates’ true activities and businesses, it becomes clear that this statement is just another mask hiding his true character. Gates himself says: “I’m not going to use my money for something that’s more self-centred.” Yet that is exactly what he does in many of his investments – his “charity” often serves only to extend his own power and influence.

.

The green façade: a hypocritical game with the environment

Gates sells himself as a green hero by fighting climate change. But his endeavours could hardly be more cynical. The man who declared cows and livestock farming to be the “enemy” of the climate is now a major investor in the promising but highly controversial industry of cultured “meat” production. What is sold as a commitment to climate protection is actually another business tool. Gates invests in companies that produce lab-grown meat and not only profits financially, but also increasingly controls food production.

But that’s not all: Gates has invested billions in genetically modified plants and sells patented seeds that force farmers into a kind of corporate servitude. Small, independent farming is increasingly being squeezed out, and in return the oligarch Gates profits – not out of love for nature, but purely for profit.

The war against nature: genetic engineering and CRISPR

As if that wasn’t enough, Gates is also investing in the dangerous world of genetic manipulation. By funding CRISPR technologies, he is trying to achieve the unimaginable: the modification of entire species in order to revive “extinct” animal species. Who gives a billionaire the moral right to make decisions about the earth’s ecosystems? Gates sees himself in the role of the modern-day god player, crossing ethical boundaries that should have no place in responsible science.

Global health or global control?

Gates’ influence extends far beyond the agricultural industry. He is the largest private donor to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and therefore has an enormous influence on global health policy. What is masked as a philanthropic initiative is in fact an expansion of power over global health strategies – with Gates as the architect of a future world order. His foundation not only controls the healthcare system, but also promotes vaccines worldwide, in which it itself holds shares. This raises the question: how charitable is it really when you profit from your own investments at the same time?

Neo-colonial agriculture: Gates and the land grabbing policy

Under the guise of development aid, Gates is buying up huge areas of farmland in Africa and driving small farmers off their land. As a promoter of the “green revolution”, he presents himself as a benefactor, but in reality he is depriving people of control over their livelihoods. The redistribution of resources at the expense of the poorest is a further example of Gates’ neo-colonial approach, which sees his vision as nothing more than a greedy expansion.

The real agenda: control and profit

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. put it in a nutshell: Gates is no saint. He is an oligarch whose philanthropy goes hand in hand with an agenda of control and expansion of power. Money doesn’t make you happy? Maybe not for Gates, but it enables him to buy governments, scientists and the livelihoods of entire nations. There is little that money cannot buy – and that is a frightening reality that Gates himself does not recognise.

It’s time to open our eyes. Bill Gates is not the friend of humanity he likes to pretend to be. He is a billionaire masquerading as a “philanthropist”, while in reality he is shaping the future of the world according to his own profit-driven ideas.
