Total disability, total heart failure… The shocking stories and scary figures from Greece’s National Organization for Medicines

Maya Altani is 38 years old and has been confined to a wheelchair for the last few years, with a total disability certification. On May 11, 2021, the day that changed her life, she received the coronavirus vaccine. Two days later, she suffered a brain hemorrhage.

Maya, who was healthy until then, had even captured the moment of her vaccination on camera, without being able to imagine what fate had in store for her. Or, if you prefer, the fate that was thrust upon her.

Maya, who hails from the city of Pyrgos, previously worked as a mechanical engineer. She has now filed a mammoth 422-page lawsuit against a multinational pharmaceutical company (AstraZeneca), seeking compensation for damages from the COVID vaccine.

And she’s not the only one. Similar is the case of Zoe Passou, who suddenly suffered heart failure. Now diagnosed with a 93% disability rate, the only thing she hopes for now is an immediate transplant.

According to OPEN TV’s shocking report, there are more than 5,000 cases of serious adverse reactions that have been reported to Greece’s National Organization for Medicines (EOF) over a period of seven months.

How many more injuries are there that we don’t know about or that haven’t been reported?

Maya’s “ah”

Altani was asked about how she is and how she feels today and her answer probably says it all: “Ah, ah…”.

Maya’s father, Tasos Altanis, summed up his daughter’s experience in one sentence: “They removed a part of her skull bigger than my palm.”

“Unfortunately, there is no support from the state,” Altanis said. “A girl who was healthy, and this is evident from her national health insurance record, which was spotless.”

EOF document says it is “certain” the vaccine caused Altani’s injury

As revealed in an EOF document dated Jan. 8, 2025, it was certified that the Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) vaccine was “certain” to have caused Maya’s disability.

Michalis Markoulakos, Altani’s attorney, told Open TV, “For the first time, there is an official document from EOF which confirms the side effect suffered by Maya Altani due to the vaccine she received.”

EOF: Over 5,000 reports of adverse reactions in seven months!

Maya’s adverse event report was filed on May 26, 2021. By Dec. 26, 2021, the number of serious adverse reactions related to coronavirus vaccines that EOF had received had reached 5,074 — a considerable number that appears to have been “lost,” not in translation, but in the lockdowns.

Zoe Passou: “I went to get the vaccine and ended up holding my heart in my hand”

Passou, now 58, is now living with a mechanical heart and is waiting for a transplant as her only hope. She was vaccinated on Dec. 14, 2021.

“I went to get the vaccine and, in the end, found myself holding my heart in my hand,” she said.

Passou, who was previously healthy, suffered total heart failure following her vaccination. “I never had a problem with my heart,” she said.

Lawsuits against multinational pharmaceutical companies

The two women are among those who have sued the multinational pharmaceutical companies that manufactured COVID vaccines for the severe side effects they sustained.

The lawsuits target “specific pharmaceutical companies, for defective research and studies in the design and production of the vaccines in question,” Markoulakos said.

Altani and Passou state that they are not generally anti-vaccine.
