He has made numerous public statements about what he describes as “massive and mysterious deaths” in Japan, claiming that the authorities know the cause (according to him, mainly vaccines) but refuse to investigate or act to save lives.
Independent or critical studies (such as those relayed by anti-vaccine groups or Prof. Yasufumi Murakami in 2025, which analysed millions of vaccination records) claim stronger correlations with vaccinations, with estimates of 600,000+ deaths attributed to vaccines.
Professor Yasufumi Murakami, Emeritus Professor at the Tokyo University of Science, is a virology and immunology researcher who has taken a particular interest in the side effects of mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. He is known for his critical stance on these vaccines, claiming that they could contribute to excess mortality, cancer and immune suppression.
Methodology: Retrospective analysis of age-adjusted mortality rates (AMR) for cancers in Japan from 2020 to 2022, compared with predictions based on 2010-2019 (logistic regression). Official data from the Japanese Ministry of Health (Vital Statistics). No analysis at individual level (no vaccination status per person), but temporal correlation with vaccination campaigns.Key results:
- No excess cancer mortality in 2020 (start of the pandemic).
- Moderate excess in 2021 after the 1st and 2nd doses (1.1% for all cancers).
- Significant excess in 2022 after the 3rd dose (2.1% for all cancers, i.e. ~7,162 additional deaths; +9.7% for ovarian, +8% for leukaemia, +5.9% for prostate, +5.5% for lip/oral/pharynx, +2% for pancreas).
- Slowdown in the downward trend for major cancers (lung, colorectal, stomach, liver).
- Excesses more marked in the >70 age group, where >90% received the 3rd dose.
Discussion and proposed mechanisms: The authors suggest that mRNA vaccines (via the Spike protein) could cause immunosuppression (via IgG4, type I IFN suppression), thrombosis, DNA damage and promotion of oestrogen-sensitive cancers (ovarian, prostate, breast). Conclusions : The excesses of 2022 would be linked to vaccines rather than to COVID or delays in care. Call for further studies and potential suspension.
