Konstantinos Arvanitis: Disciplinary Committee of the Athens Medical Association Rules I am "Overwhelmingly Innocent"- 2

I would call it “A good start.” The chronicle of a four-year process…

Four years ago, in August 2021, the Athens Medical Association (I.S.A.) started my ex officio prosecution for a Facebook post which concerned data from an official governmental source of England, which was accompanied by my commentary.

The controversial post of 20 August 2021 is this:

Meeting of the Board of Directors of the I.S.A. on 26 August 2021

My case was discussed at the Board of the I.S.A. just six days after the publication, where it was decided to seek my views on the charges of “spreading false information” and insulting expressions against colleagues.

The example of my attorney of over 12-13 years, who had handled many of my cases, is indicative. This attorney, who is also a legal advisor of the Athens Medical Association, attended this meeting in this capacity.

Instead of asking to be recused, stating that she was unable to attend this meeting because of our attorney-client relationship, so that she could be replaced by another person (the I.S.A. has at least four legal advisors), she concealed that I was her client, just so that she could stay in the meeting to make sure that I would be referred to the I.S.A. Disciplinary Board!

In fact, she even made up completely unsubstantiated accusations against me!

She didn’t tell me anything at the time about the role she played, so she remained my advocate for another 3.5 years, during which she took on a number of my cases, paid by me for her services, while she had already dug a hole for me in the I.S.A.

This, so that every skeptic can learn the methods the establishment uses to fight anyone who doesn’t bow their head.

OUTCOME

On 26 August 2021, the I.S.A. board decided to charge me on two counts:

1) Citing “false and misleading data, based on data from Great Britain” (it was from England, but they couldn’t understand that either), presenting … data that do not correspond to the truth.”

2) Making “critical, derogatory and disparaging references to our fellow members of the COVID-19 Expert Committee,” including the following statement: “Do not expect real data from Greece. Do not expect any real evidence from the real experts…”

Meeting of the I.S.A. Board of Directors on 18 November 2021

After I gave my views on the indictment in writing in September 2021, the I.S.A.’s Board met on 18 November 2021 to review them.

There, my detailed explanations were judged and did not convince anyone, even though I presented much more detailed data than in my post in question!

I explicitly and emphatically stated that if I found even one error in my analyses, I was willing to make up for it by making a new post, corrected.

However, some [board members] said they were unable to understand “all these maths” (even though it was simple 4th-5th grade level arithmetic…).

Thus, the Board of Directors decided to refer me to the Disciplinary Board of the I.S.A., entrusting it with the task of “pulling the snake from the hole”.

DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE

The Disciplinary Board of the I.S.A. decided on 26 February 2024 to conduct an investigation and assigned my case to an investigating doctor.

This doctor called me and asked me to provide him with the original English Public Health England bulletins, because he had neither been aware of them, nor did he even know how to find and download them!

Evidently, he had never bothered to investigate such matters before! But after I sent the bulletins to him and after he studied them, he decided that they were not false.

In fact, he told me on the phone: “Okay, colleague, you have not given false evidence. Let’s meet one of the next days at the offices of the I.S.A. to formally close the matter. Especially since you have also declared your willingness to make amends.”

Of course I will correct it, I replied, if you show me an error, even a typographical error.

We met a few days later, on 16 May 2024, at the offices of the I.S.A., supposedly to “formally close the issue.” In fact, the supposedly “formal procedure” lasted over three hours, where the investigator, after realizing that he had lost the game in the field of evidence, started asking probing questions! “What do you think about this, what do you think about that…”

Of course I didn’t get into the game of trial of opinions. I was only responding to what had to do with my publication. That was frowned upon.

Maybe the investigator expected to see me fall to my knees and apologize, but I was absolutely right!

His report concluded that I should be tried by the Disciplinary Board! That’s how “honestly” the establishment plays!

The meetings of the disciplinary board

In all, there were four meetings of the Disciplinary Board.

1st meeting: 12 November 2024.

The meeting was interrupted at noon, to be resumed two days later. After this meeting, we requested the minutes of the 2021 board meetings that led to my referral to the Disciplinary Board.

The next day, when we read the minutes, we discovered the role played by my attorney up until that point. Of course from that date our cooperation was terminated.

2nd meeting: 14 November 2024

The hearing took place. At noon it was interrupted to resume in a month. Only my own apology and the plea of my two lawyers were pending.

3rd MEETING: 16 December 2024

Before continuing, I asked for the recusal of all of the Disciplinary Board’s members, full and alternate, because of obvious discriminatory behaviour towards me. At the same time, I submitted an appeal to the Panhellenic Medical Association, asking to be tried by the Disciplinary Board of any other domestic Medical Association. I have that right.

The Panhellenic Medical Association convened after 3-4 months and rejected my request, on the grounds that the procedure was flawless. Therefore, I had to “return” to complete the I.S.A.’s disciplinary procedure.

The decision was notified to me sometime last April.

The Disciplinary Board of the I.S.A., in its decision of 1 September, scheduled a meeting for 16 September. However, on that day, the Athens Bar Association decided that lawyers would abstain.

Thus, the final meeting of the Disciplinary Board (with my apology and the arguments of my lawyers) was scheduled for yesterday, 21 October 2025.

4th AND FINAL SESSION

It was an apology that lasted about three full hours, during which I provided a new piece of documentary evidence (medical studies, publications, statistical analyses, etc.) after every one or two sentences, submitting a total of 62 documents.

I had more than 100 documents with me, but at a certain point it became clear that no more effort was needed. The outcome of the race seemed to be decided.

For the same reason, only one of my two lawyers spoke next. The board adjourned. After about 15 minutes, they called me and announced, “Overwhelmingly innocent.”

At that moment I felt that my four-year struggle had been vindicated, since it initially appeared at the very first meeting that the vast majority of the delegates were hostile to me. We managed to reverse this in the final act of the drama!

I would say this creates a good precedent, because, if my memory serves me right, this is the first time that the I.S.A. Disciplinary Board acquitted someone who, in the era of the great health care deception, did not blindly believe the experts, but instead passionately supported orthodox medicine without ever mincing his words, without ever making the slightest retreat, without adding even a drop of water in his wine.

EPILOGUE

I owe a special mention to the invaluable help and support of my legal team, consisting of the couple:

– Spyros Dilis,

– Elli Papadopoulou, https://www.facebook.com/elli.papadopoulou.395

Their advice, their organisation of my defence, and their strategy and tactics were exemplary and helped me a lot in my final vindication! I thank them from the bottom of my heart!
