The author of the 2 papers on the link between the Covid vaccine and cancer has received a job offer from Pfizer and Big Pharma has launched a cyber attack on the journal that published the articles.

Dr Wafik S. El-Deiry, oncologist and director of the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University, did indeed publish a post on X on 6 January 2026, stating that he had received a message from a Pfizer recruiter on 5 January. He describes this as ironic and explicitly states that he is not interested in a position at Pfizer. The recruiter’s message is a standard canvassing email, referring to a period of reflection at the end of the year and emphasising Dr El-Deiry’s expertise in oncology, without any direct reference to his publications.Concerning the two articles published in the journal Oncotarget (of which Dr El-Deiry is co-author and associate editor-in-chief):
- One was co-authored with Charlotte Kuperwasser: “COVID vaccination and post-infection cancer signals: Evaluating patterns and potential biological mechanisms”.
- The other: “Hypothesis: HPV E6 and COVID spike proteins cooperate in targeting tumour suppression by p53”.
These articles, published at the beginning of January 2026, explore potential signals and mechanisms linked to COVID vaccines or to infection.
The journal Oncotarget suffered a cyber attack (DDoS) shortly after publication, temporarily rendering the site inaccessible and preventing articles from being displayed. The journal called it a malicious criminal attack and reported the incident to the FBI.
